I know the power of this word, I love to hear the impact these conversations have. Okay, let's get into it.

How frustrating is it when you get your momentum or your progress stopped or interrupted can be so hard to find that consistent performance and then someone comes in and interrupts you it's it's can be excruciating. So really important is to identify where that happens in your life, the areas where, you know, if you get momentum, if things start moving forward for you, you need to be uninterrupted. So it's a question of boundaries. And it's also clarifying expectations. If there are different times where you are in the middle of something, letting people know if they if you've got certain plans for a day or a time, different period, letting the people around, you know. Now, if you're not sure what your expectations are, how on earth are they going to No, I can't get inside your mind. So if you want to make sure that you are making the most of those moments of momentum, making the most of those moments, when you've got that consistent performance, making sure that you can hit those consistent performances again, and again. When you're getting stuff done, and you want to keep the needle moving forward, get really clear on what that is for you when those times are and then put those boundaries in place. If it's a work environment, for example, have Do Not Disturb times, is huge for me as a manager when I'll just get constantly people coming and ruining the flow of my day. Because it wasn't clear on the times when I couldn't be interrupted, or separating myself taking myself away to areas where I couldn't be interrupted. The couple of things that come to mind that it used to really show up and still does now actually, remember in football, getting a defender playing you instead of the ball and and checking your run. So frustrating, like being there been a bit sneaky, right? Actually getting in your road intentionally. And that same frustration would come to the surface much quicker. Because it competitive environment. If you treat your work place or your personal life with that same competitive instincts, not the parts that might have you reacting in a negative way. But in terms of that desire to get a good result, then you'll start to see just how negative that interruption that distraction when people block your progress starts to become the other one now when I'm running. So running requires rhythm, rather than running requires you to set a certain pace and to get in a into a rhythm where you're going to be able to make even progress for a long period of time, often depending on how far you run. But generally if you're running, you're running for a distance where it's going to require some consistency, some efficiency of movement and other tasks in your life are exactly the same. You need a rhythm. You need to be able to keep moving forward and you need to consistency about that. Now when you're running if someone drives in front of you, or someone on the footpath crosses your path isn't being considerate around your running. And that's so frustrating. You can't always control that. Sometimes you can you call out if they're walking and let them know you come If it's a car, generally your car but I try and use hand gestures as much as possible, and apologize as I run in front of them. When there's a side street, knowing that most people are happy to stop anyway, having those same things in place, letting people know, a gesture might be just putting your hand up while you are in the middle of something. And if some people want to have patience, and then they'll just listen to the or they'll react to the gesture, but simply put, what can you put in place where you're clarifying those expectations in advance to keep those interruptions to an absolute minimum, so you can keep your flow, you can keep your rhythm and you can start hitting that consistent forward progress on a much higher frequency. And with an absolute game changer for your performance, for your productivity, for your efficiency, and how you feel about yourself, because you're getting the stuff done that you know you need to get done.
