So many people come to me after they have been seeing a therapist or a psychologist or someone like that. And they've done all the talking. And now they actually want strategy. And it keeps reminding me how important it is to not only have a strategy, but to know how to create your own. You can muddle along, doing the best that you can with what you've got in front of you. But that will take you forever, it will take you so long, and it will just slow you down. It will slow you down from bringing into your life, all of the things that you want to bring in have been the sort of person that you know, you need to be to step up to reach your full potential. So while I certainly advocate for talking it out, if I having a space to be able to process things, it's part of the work that I do, it's part of our how I help people as well, to provide that safe space. But it's great to get that reminder from the people that are helping just how important the strategy is as well. Now, for me strategy, I take it for granted that it comes really naturally to me, if any of you have done the Gallup strength finder tool, use that resource at all. For me, that particular tool was a really profound moment for me, because it reaffirmed for me, and really gave me confidence in an area that had just come so naturally. And my top three or four, I can't remember the order. But it's Maximizer. So the the ability to see something and make it better arranger, so the ability to take in a hold of data and then reposition it in a way that's going to make sense. positivity. Well, that speaks speaks to it speaks for itself. Whoo, whew. Which is something to do with influence. I can't read what it stands for. Working with others, not with others, I'll have to look that one up and let you know another time. But it's all of those pieces, is the ability for me to be able to create these different strategies myself in different situations. That was a real strength of mine in corporate when I was working with different teams and different staff members and be able to hear what they're saying and be able to help them reposition it to actually get the best out of what they do. And also, through so much in my corporate years not having someone I had great leaders. And they, they gave me so much in so many different areas. But my own individual strategy wasn't one of them, because it wasn't their natural strength. So being able to then realize my strength in that area and adapt and continue to develop my own strategies, my own structure my own way of improving. Like I said, I've I've kind of taken that for granted that I am able to do that at such a high level.
So if you're at that point where you are knowing you needing a strategy, you've done all the talking and you're wanting more. Well, here are some tips that I can give you for creating strategy. And one of the best ones is you start with a brain dump for whatever it is that you're working on. Whatever it is you want to move forward on, whatever whatever it is you want to improve on, is you just get everything out of your head that you can think of everything you wrote Add it down, you type it out, whatever it is. And there's just something about the magic of writing things down. That just gives you so much clarity. And suddenly, things start to make a bit more sense. So don't skip this step. So many people I know who are maybe visual thinkers, or they're able to process large amounts of data. They don't think they need to do this step. But you need to get it down and out of your head, to allow your unconscious to be able to process it. So there's the first step, walk away, once you've done the brain dump, go and do something completely different, and allow your brain to do some sorting. And when you come back to it, the piece of the puzzle then is okay, what out of all of those things that have brain dumped? Can I control? Can I actually get quick wins on? Can I take action on? And take the action? What are the things that are out of my control? Separate those into another category? And what are the things that I need to learn? Now suddenly, you have a strategy. You know, the things you can take action on, you know, the things that you might need help with, that you might need to learn. And then that gives you an opportunity to go, Well, where can I ask for help in this area. And then you know, those other things that you can just park for the time being because they are out of your control, there's nothing you can do about them. So there's no point worrying about them anyway. Take the time to do this. This is going to allow you to arrange things, it's going to allow your subconscious, importantly, to do some arranging, and it's going to speed up your process for whatever you're wanting to improve whatever you're wanting to reach a higher level. And I can't reiterate this enough, do not skip the step of taking the time to write it down or type it out or get it on paper, because it really is the key ingredient. Much like the journaling that I've been talking a lot about in recent episodes. Make this a priority. Let me know how you go. And Happy strategizing.
