Unknown Speaker 1:00

It so much inspiration from the music or listen to sales that really remind me of my childhood and inspire me and bring me joy. Anyway, this song was listening to this week, called Amsterdam boy, the living end.

Unknown Speaker 1:18

And there's a line in there that said, I put all that I had on a losing horse should have backed myself instead. And I remember hearing it. And I've heard this so many times. But I heard it in a way that I hadn't heard before. And it's like, oh my goodness, how often

Unknown Speaker 1:36

do we all put our hopes in something external that will come and help us out of a situation. And if you look at that particular that words to that song, like gambling on something in the heartbeat of make us feel better

Unknown Speaker 1:52

as an avoidance tactic from actually doing what we need to do for us.

Unknown Speaker 1:57

So my question to you is,

Unknown Speaker 2:02

what losing losses you backing?

Unknown Speaker 2:05

And where should you be backing yourself instead? Where should you be having the courage to

Unknown Speaker 2:13

step up? And see how far you can go? Wish? Where are you?

Unknown Speaker 2:21

Allowing yourself to be knocked off course by someone else?

Unknown Speaker 2:26

Are you giving your power away? Because you're leaving your future in the hands of other people's ideas, thoughts, other people's ideas of what's best for your life?

Unknown Speaker 2:38

These are great questions to ask. Because when we can realise that if we take responsibility, and we started backing ourselves, and we start realising that, if it if it is to be it's up to me, write that

Unknown Speaker 2:54

10 word 20 letter sentence, if it is to be it is up to me, back yourself, see how far you can go. Invest in yourself. Always looking back recently at how much I've invested in myself on the personal growth journey in the last 11 years. And it's nearly $100,000 that you might listen to that and think That's madness. That's paid itself back in terms of the

Unknown Speaker 3:22

financial opportunities I've had since then.

Unknown Speaker 3:28

But more importantly than that,

Unknown Speaker 3:31

it's paid itself back 100 times in what it's given me in terms of my peace of mind,

Unknown Speaker 3:38

the sense of calm, the sense of fulfilment, the ability to feel joy, to release so much of the pain and anger and anguish that I was carrying the physical pain that released as I continued to grow myself.

Unknown Speaker 3:57

So I've been backing myself for 11 years after

Unknown Speaker 4:02

I hadn't for the previous 38

Unknown Speaker 4:09

Two years I bet two and 49.

Unknown Speaker 4:14

I know what I'd rather

Unknown Speaker 4:16

when I was putting my everything I had on

Unknown Speaker 4:21

other people and as it turned out, the losing horse was actually just giving my power away.

Unknown Speaker 4:28

To want to change from that to backing myself, knowing that I can change my circumstances by

Unknown Speaker 4:37

investing in me and in yes financially, but it's investing physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, energetically, holistically, backing myself and doing the best that I can.

Unknown Speaker 4:51

Because if grief has taught me anything

Unknown Speaker 4:55

is that

Unknown Speaker 4:57

you only get one crack at this lifetime.

Unknown Speaker 5:01

And it's not forever.

Unknown Speaker 5:05

And if you haven't already, there are moments where you realise that you're spinning the wheels. And

Unknown Speaker 5:13

it's not forever.

Unknown Speaker 5:16

And there's so much more to be had.

Unknown Speaker 5:20

I can remember dad's funeral, thinking about all that he's achieved and all the nice things people were saying about him and all he done. I'm like, man, I've done none of those things.

Unknown Speaker 5:31

That was my

Unknown Speaker 5:33

moment of change to back myself.

Unknown Speaker 5:36

You've had your moment of challenge, you've had the pain. Don't keep waiting for another one. It's time for action that only you can control that.

Unknown Speaker 5:48

Back yourself.
