Last week, I made a really simple post, then stated, if you're feeling pain, six weeks after an injury, it's unresolved grief being stored in your body, shift the pain in your mind, and you'll find physical freedom again. Now, I got a heap of love for that post. But I also got a heap of people come at me. And as far as I can tell, the main reason why is because they'd suffered from chronic pain for a long time. And they weren't real happy about someone coming in saying that they just needed to change their thoughts around it, or change how their mind was seeing it. Now, it wasn't over simplified posts, and it was designed to promote thought. I gotta be honest, it was surprised about the frustration in some of the comments. But I also know what it's like to have that frustration from having that chronic pain that just doesn't seem to go away, that hangs around for way too long. Because it really is exhausting. And at times, it's debilitating. And yet, for so many years, I just tolerated it. Just put up with it. Just thought it was normal. We get told enough, you know, as you get older, your body starts to hurt more and aches and whatever. And it's like just buy into it. First serious injury I had was when I had a spiral fracture of my right leg. So I'm talking when I looked down at it was going in a different direction. So both bones snapped in half. And went back to see well went through the whole rehab. Went to my sports doctor, I was trying to get trying to get better there. So once I'd gone through the rehab, but just you know, going through the all the motions of rebuilding my muscle and so on. And, you know, he was saying to me and I like so much of the healings comes from the mind. So I did have a determination to get back to to be able to get mobile, that sort of stuff. But it's not those injuries. It's the it's the other injuries where I got told that, well, you probably shouldn't run anymore. Because of this problem I have in my back. Probably shouldn't run on hard surfaces anymore because of these fractures you've had in your feet. And you know, the sunken archways you've gotten, you need to have orthotics and all these different things. We're told by a doctor, don't get your nose fixed, because, you know, if you're playing sport, you'll just damage it again. I remember when I eventually couldn't stand it anymore ended up with a nose doctor and he was like, No, that's ridiculous. Like because at this point, I couldn't breathe through one nostril, I could barely breathe through the other. He said look at that fixed up if if you have an injury, so be it but you can't keep living like that. And he was right. So for so long, I waited till these injuries got to the point where I just couldn't cope. Completely laid out in my back not being able to move one morning when I had to get kids to school and had to get myself to work. The pains in my shoulders that are just tolerated for so so long. The tension in my back, which meant that when I played golf, I couldn't even fully rotate to the most awkward and difficult swing and wondering why I couldn't get any better. limping from Game Day to training, recover enough for training limb for the next two days until training, just enough recovery and then do the whole thing again with the game of the weekend.

Because of a problem my foot and diagnosis after diagnosis to stop playing sports still running, don't lift heavy weights probably won't do that anymore. And I went to the was actually a business building program and talking to the facilitator and they were talking about buying into what you've been told than that moment hearing about examples of other people who just changed their whole belief and found alternatives, or started looking for alternatives myself heard about someone not needing an operation, because I went to acupuncture, fixed my foot that, that the doctor couldn't that I'd had to have orthotics for my shoes, all these different things. Actually, I keep four sessions of acupuncture, I've never had pioneer again. And then kinesiology, which released so much chiropractor that really so much of my back when I had to rebuild my running style, so my feet were much better. The call work I did, which mean that my so called dodgy hips and knees and ankles, suddenly didn't hurt. I started doing more of the mental and emotional release techniques which meant that the tightness that I used to require, through my own frustration and anger and other emotions that I was suppressing, just dissolved. Started getting stronger again. I remember a meniscus tear in my knee that I never got repaired. But I can't remember the last time I actually noticed it. But apparently, it needed needed an operation. But that's never happened, and yet their pains not there. And I don't have any strength issues in that knee.

So I'm recording this podcast to share the journey. And also because I'll be turning this one into an article as well and has to do with some of the podcasts and sharing it with those people who, who asked me to share what I learned and how I did so. And then taking that to another level. Now what I've learned is that even just from the daily things that we suppress, how much that turns into physical pain, how much our body talks to us constantly bugged me each one of those injuries. Each one of those injuries, my body was trying to tell me so tell me something. And part of what I've worked out, part of what is now the Grief Code framework is how everybody talks to us how that shows up and behavior. How that shows up in patents and what to do about it.

And so much of the physical pain is the is the angle that we anger that we carry, that we don't process have been done about this a lot for the last few weeks. It's like at that lower level stuff. Just don't don't process it. That's okay, doesn't matter, whatever. Each bit of that anger bottled up and bottles up, and then we get those niggles and aches and pains and it's like why is that hurting? Bobby elbow might be something in your wrist, your fingers, something around your back. But if we will be scanning our body and find out where the tension is and we can actually find out what's going on at a deeper level. Not necessarily a deeper level as in anything scary. Just something that needs changing. We'll make the change body will heal itself. So that's my physical pain journey. I'm not going to tell you how to have physical ailments from time to time, because I absolutely do. A lot of that has to do with I'm still running around a football field play You know over 30 fives division one team when I'm when I'm fast approaching 50. And two how to be playing against those youngsters? Yes, those youngsters 30 to 36 and 37 year olds. But just also from the, like I said, the things that you gather from day to day, whereas now, I don't let that consume me, I will tune in and look up what I know and work out what is going on. And when I can't answer that, then I speak to my coach and we unpack it and find out what's really going on. And it's amazing once you shift the old pattern or old thought process, how the pain goes, then it's a beautiful thing. And then you always do the same thing that you've done previous times, which is why did I tolerate for that for so long. So if you're ready to release, take action. Find someone who's gonna be able to help you navigate whatever your body is telling you and make that change.
